Aishwarya Lands In A Legal Soup!

Looks like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s second outing after Jazbaa has run into trouble.

The actress has been roped in to play Dalbir Kaur in Omung Kumars ambitious biopic on Sarbjit Singh, the Indian national who spent 23 years in Pakistan prison after being convicted of terrorism and being a spy.

Now, Aishwarya and Omung have received a legal notice from Baljinder Kaur, a woman who claims to be Sarbjits sister. She has opposed the making of the film as she fears it will project Sarbjit in a negative manner.

To justify her claim of being Sarbjits sister, Baljinder has attached a copy of her family tree along with the notice. She also wants her DNA tests to be conducted and matched with Sarbjits daughters.

Baljinder claims that she is not against a movie based on her brother, provided his real story is shown to the people.

Contrary to the story that Sarbjit had inadvertently crossed over to Pakistan in a drunken condition, she asserted that he was, in fact, an agent of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

Baljinder stated that the movie should not belittle Sarbjits sacrifice by portraying him as an alcoholic.

Before this, she had sent a similar notice to filmmaker Subhash Ghai in June 2014 when reports stated that he would make the Sarbjit biopic.
